Full Time, Live Out Nanny For Family in Hoole, Chester
Happy Nest are seeking an experienced nanny, who can fulfil proxy parent type duties, to join a family with two active boys. With mum and dad both full time pilots, you’ll be providing full, sole charge care. This family call the uber hip area of Hoole, Chester, home sweet home.
We know, you’ve safely landed a goodun here. I mean, at least you’ll be within easy reach of all the good coffee to get you through those early starts.
These boys – aged 4 and 7 – love arts and crafts, tractors, Lego, and Minecraft. They also love the outdoors, which is probably a key reason why they have such strong imaginations. Good news really, because it means there’s endless opportunity for open ended play.
Located close to Hoole town centre, and within walking distance from Chester city centre, this active family live in a beautiful old property. You’ll find that being only a short drive from Chester Zoo, and with Grosvenor Park and the river offering lots for children to do (we hear they’re fans of train rides in Grosvenor Park) this family are ideally placed.
- 9o hours over a 3-week period, with the 4th week off
- some overnights and antisocial hours
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be able to offer a certain amount of flexibility with your time. Although to be honest, it really just comes down to being organised and knowing your diary commitments.
As both parents work for international airports with variable shift patterns, they’re either up and about very early, or home very late. Mum works a 4-week rota, and your nanny schedule will be tailored to coordinate with mum’s shifts. This means you’ll work 90 hours over three weeks (with some early starts, and late finishes) and then have the 4th week off work.
Now before you get overwhelmed by this, let’s break it down.
These parents are organised, and they know their work schedules a month in advance. As a result, you’ll have plenty of notice to plan your work schedule, and also to make the most of your free time during your work-free days. Plus, if you love stationery, then you’ll pleased to know this family keep a well-maintained family calendar. The dream!
A regular shift tends to be between 7am to 6pm, or perhaps 5pm to 2am. Although at times there will be some 4am starts (working through until 3pm), or even some later 5pm starts (working through until 2am). Hate an early morning commute? You’re welcome to stay the night ahead of shifts with a 4am start. You’ll also find that a regular month’s schedule may include some weekends and bank holidays.
This Chester nanny role will involve drop off / pick-ups from both school and nursery. Mr 7 attends the local primary school in Hoole, and (#win) it’s within walking distance. Which means you’ll never have to fight for parking! Whilst Mr 4 goes to a lovely nursery that’s 10 miles drive from home.
As their nanny, your main duties will be to ensure the boys are happy and well cared for. You’ll help with homework, offer activities, and dig deep into your nanny bag of tricks to ensure they’re entertained. Although see point above about having great imaginations. Therefore, there’s loads of scope for creativity.
Can you cook? Great! The ideal nanny will be confident preparing nutritious, healthy meals for the children. As you’re an expert in the art of creating joy, you might even be able to convince the boys to help you with tidying their rooms, and staying on top of laundry.
Furthermore, if you’re entering a quiet and sleep house at the start of your shift, then you’ll take the opportunity to get a jump start on things without any interruptions. So why not pop the kettle on, and get going on the housekeeping, or even organising the boy’s activities.
Piqued your interest? Then buckle up your seat belt, and let’s get ready for take off! To ensure you soar above the rest, we know you’ll be the type of nanny who’s happy, go lucky, with some serious organisational skills and loves working independently. Also, fun. It’s the main idea here. These boys love to laugh. Do you?
