Happy Nest are seeking a proactive and experienced nanny housekeeper to join this busy family of five (three children, two parents) on a full time, live in basis in this beautiful setting in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales with full transport links to London and the bustling market town of Skipton on your doorstep you really can have the best of both worlds in this idyllic location.
The ideal nanny will be caring, fun and full of energy, whilst also being highly organised, proactive, and open to flexibility. You’ll need to have an understanding of good nutrition for children,and have a keen interest in preparing healthy meals.
These boys – a 4 year old and 2 year old and baby aged 1 – love nature they have a wonderful treehouse in their garden which can really fire their imagination. They love reading and drawing but thrive when they are pulling on their wellies for some outdoor play.
You’ll really enjoy this position if you’re able to relax and have fun with the children and enjoy taking the initiative to ensure the housekeeping element of the role is undertaken to a good standard.
- 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday (There is flexibility on this if needed)
Day-to-day, you’ll be in charge of caring for the children, and keeping the general household in order. Your main role will see you as the caring, nanny of the children They attend pre school and nursery locally 5 days a week., They love activity, but thrive on routine. The ideal nanny will know how to balance the need for fun and spontaneity, with maintaining a schedule.
Your mornings will involve the typical breakfast routine, before racing out of the house for school and nursery drop offs. The afternoons are usually made up of after-school activities before coming home for dinner, bath, and bed.
During the day, you have permission to go all Marie Kondo on things. Your strong organisational skills will come into play for as you keep the house tidy and clean the laundry sorted and ordered.
To keep your day running smoothly, this would be the best time to put your chef hat on, and meal prep some of the boys’ favourite healthy meals. Playing to your strengths with healthy organic food, the family grow some of their own vegetables so there will be plenty of homegrown produce on hand. You will be expected to plan meals and do a weekly online shop.
Whilst you’re at it, and if we’re honest it goes with out saying although we’ll say it anyway, raising these boys to be well mannered, respectful and capable little people is really important part of the job.
Mum is currently working from home due to the pandemic but this is likely to change as the role progresses
There is a large bedroom and ensuite private bathroom for the nanny within this beautiful family home. Tin early Spring the family plan to convert the garage to make separate accommodation for the nanny which will include a separate bedroom, bathroom and kitchen .They also have a large garden that can be enjoyed alongside those amazing views.
A minimum of 2 years early years childcare experience with a recognised qualification in childcare.
